Description: This model represents a vehicle fighting against the advancing Allies in Alsace on the Western Front in 1945. It is from sPzJgAbt 653, one of only two heavy antitank battalions equipped with the Jagdtiger (the other was sPzJgAbt 512). Interestingly, only about 20% of Jagdtigers were lost as a result of combat damage, for the majority were abandoned and sabotaged by their crews usually when they broke down! The top of the boxy fighting compartment is also draped in a tarpaulin, which provided some form of additional weather protection for the crew.
