Before we start, I have to admit I am biased. I love early war German armor. Those old reels of the beret wearing panzer troops storming across Europe are a cool combination of new and old as the Germans invented their new form of warfare.

This year for another virtual Dragon Expo, Dragon surprised everybody with the announcement of their new Panzer II. As we will see, nobody (the big boys anyway) does vehicles like Dragon.

The tracks are individual plastic links that come pre assembled. All you need to do is run them over the running gear and insert one pin.
-
The tank comes mostly assembled. You just have to put on the wheels and some small bits. Total assembly time is about 15 minutes.
-
Other than being retro cool, another advantage to the Panzer II in 1/6th is that it is a tank that is not so large that you cannot find a display place..
-
Most of tools come already on the chassis. You just have to snap on a couple like the jack.
-
The Notek light and other bits just snap on, but you may want to glue them to keep em there.
-
The whole tank is made from plastic and is light and durable.

Rear shot. Dragon did a nice job on the paint ops. Subtle weathering. Of course, we can't wait to see what some of you guys turn these into.

The interior does not have much detailing, but the turret has detailing on the cannon and MG.
-
The turret hatches open and close.

Nothing is cooler than early war panzer troops going open turret.

Dragon is to be commended for taking a chance on a project like this and they really executed it well. The Panzer II is a great vehicle and basically comes ready right out of the box. I am sure the aftermarket guys will not step up and offer upgrade and options parts, so it will be cool to see what the customizers do with it.
