The 13th Waffen SS Division Handschar was made up of Balkan troops including Bosnian Muslims and Croatian Catholics. Due to the terrain of Balkans, they were a trained in mountain infantry warfare similar to the Gebirgsjager. Himmler proposed the idea of raising a non-Germanic SS division to deal with the Communist partisans that were causing trouble for the Germans in the Balkans. He 'got around' the ethnic question by claiming that the Bosniaks were descendants of the 6th century Goths and therefore of Germanic decent. They were fierce fighters and saw extensive action in the East. This DiD figure represents an officer from this division and comes with many display options.
